At Sydney Motor Trimmers we specialise in the
repair and restoration of leather and vinyl car
seats. Whether you have a scratch, scuff, tear,
burn or stain we can repair the damage. In the
event of rips or cuts we also undertake
restitching.
Our seat repair service covers repairs to
vehicle seat covers, foams, springs and frames;
general wear and tear, worn bolsters, deployed
airbags, vandalism, cigarette burns etc. In most
cases we are able to replace just the individual
panels of the seat cover that are damaged thus
minimising costs. It is only in more extreme
cases that a total recover may be necessary.
We specialise in all vehicle makes and models

Aston Martin, Audi, Austin, Bentley, BMW,
Chevrolet, Chrysler, Corvette, Dodge, Ferrari,

Car Seat Repair Service
Our highly skilled trimmers can accommodate
every type of seat repair you might require.
Seat repairs break down into upholstery problems
and mechanical problems. Upholstery problems
generally are variations of torn, worn, soiled
or damaged upholstery.
If you have any of these,
we can:
- Repair the damaged areas
- Install a replacement
factory upholstery cover
- Replace one or several
"panels" with the same or
similar materials
- Re-upholster the seat
completely in the same or
similar materials
- Re-cover the seat completely
in a new material
- We can use leather, vinyl or
cloth, or we can install a
leather interior conversion
At Sydney Motor Trimmers, the majority of
seat repairs we do involve partial replacement
of leather or vinyl. Therefore, we've developed
considerable knowledge in matching these
materials by colour and grain. Mercedes leather
is different to BMW leather, Lexus leather and
Jaguar leather.
We maintain a large selection of leather and
vinyl for different manufacturers. If we don't
have it in stock, we can usually get it from our
suppliers within a day or two.
Inside of a seat
We are fully trained and have an in house
welding facility to repair broken seat frames.
Our most common mechanical work is
repair/replacement of seat frames, springs,
motors, tracks, recliner mechanisms and drive
cables. We order parts from auto dealerships or
from a wide network of new and used parts
sources.
Proper care of your seat upholstery can insure
its full life and minimise the need for costly
repairs. For advice on caring for your leather,
vinyl, cloth or synthetic suede seats see these
sections in our Convertible Top and Interior
Care Guide.
Seat Heaters
Seat heaters are available for a large number
of seat configurations in late model cars and
provide either two or three levels of heat. They
are designed to keep you warm whether you are
sitting on leather, cloth, or vinyl.
A seat heater kit consists of a seat heater pad
for the backrest and cushion, switches, a
control unit, and a wiring harness. The heater
pads are installed underneath the seat's
upholstery covers. Where the heater switches are
installed depends on the interior configuration
of the car.
Seat heaters warm the core of your body in a way
that cannot be duplicated by your car's heater
system. They are especially effective for people
who are susceptible to cold and have trouble
getting warm. They are a fantastic gift idea!
